WELCOME BACK TO YORK
Welcome Back...

A new school year is upon us, and for those of you who are new to the campus, or if you are interested in getting involved with campus activities,  CHRY wants to let you know about our involvement at York over the first couple of months.  We hope you can get involved as a volunteer, and take some time to listen to the words and music of your University community.

Here are some events where we will be present:

York Fest:
CHRY will have our booth set up on the 23rd of September alongside other York clubs and organizations.  You can visit to speak with representatives of the station, and also sign up as a volunteer.  Also, DJ Manifest from Toronto Morning Live (Mondays from 7-10am) will be spinning at the event!

York Based Programming:

Sport York: Throughout the year, CHRY is present at Campus sporting events.  We conduct play-by-play broadcasts from York Lions Basketball and Hockey games.  If you are interested in supporting your campus sports teams you can help volunteer for these events as well.

Department of Music:  CHRY always lends its airwaves to the artists in the community, and this is true of York Musicians as well.  We will be conducting live broadcasts during the year from the Martin Family Lounge in the Accolade East Building during the various festivals and noon hour concerts.

G.I.V.E. the Gospel Inter Varsity Explosion – Saturday, October 24th
CHRY will be involved with this exciting Gospel event coordinated by Karen Burke, a Canadian Gospel Icon and York Professor.  Student Gospel Choirs from different campuses will converge at York, and CHRY will be present to document the event.

prOPIRGanda: Every Week on CHRY, Thursdays from 12:00-1:00pm
The Ontario Public Interest Research Group (OPIRG) at York hosts a weekly spoken word program to explore social justice issues such as prisoner justice, feminist, First Nations coverage and more.

Visit Our offices in the student centre – CHRY is located in room 413 of the Student Centre, we invite you to come down find out more about volunteering and programming at the station.
