Arts & Entertainment Coordinator (Volunteer Position)
This position serves the purpose of tracking, posting and setting-up interviews, as well as getting press accreditation to events, concerts and shows. This is needed to inform and immerse programmers in the opportunities that are available to them through the industry. Whether it is doing research into events, or replying to specific requests from programmers, the A&E Coordinator must maintain a good relationship with industry representatives and make opportunities available for the station. These postings can be done through such things as an event calendar, interview listings, and mail-outs to the volunteer email list. There is also an email account that must be managed by the Coordinator. This position is supervised by the Music Coordinator and requires a minimum of 4 hours of work per week commitment over a minimum of three months. Once filled, this position will also supervise other volunteers interested in this Department.
Responsibilities: · Checking emails for news and related opportunities in the music industry · Contact and liaising with industry representatives · Building and maintaining an up-to-date Media contact list · Posting opportunities and maintaining a calendar of events on-line · Producing and airing a regular A&E spotlight · Replying to the programmers requests · Coordinating ticket draws and giveaways · Creating a positive image for CHRY · Provide support for Funding Drive (Fall position) · Bi-weekly meetings
Qualifications: · Understanding of the CHRY Mandate · Ability to effectively communicate and represent CHRY · Work well with other volunteers · Knowledge and passion for campus/community radio · Commitment of a minimum of 4hours per week · Great attitude and a rounded appreciation of music
