As a wholly incorporated Not-For-Profit organization fundraising represents an important portion of our revenue model. Listeners both locally and internationally have supported the growth and delivery of our broadcasts and on-air experiences for over 25 years. Fundraising dollars augment the various aspects of the on-air broadcast and specifically speak in support of the diversity of content found on the program grid. As a Campus-based Community radio station, CHRY appreciates any and all financial assistance we receive from our listeners and numerous community partners – those partners (like York University) support us in other ways to deliver the whole 360degree aspect of our civic broadcast training, vocational incubator and community outreach. In order to keep our station running strong we need your support!

Where does my donation go?

With your donation, you give support to the development of volunteer civic-driven broadcasting. Our broadcasts represent the under-represented languages, cultures and musical genres not readily found through mainstream media. Your vote of confidence in CHRY speaks to your understanding and belief in having balance in oversaturated homogenized nature of mainstream radio. Your financial support stands in solidarity with the literal thousands of CHRY listeners who have supported our growth over 25 years!

Of course, there are the regular administrative costs to keep CHRY running on the FM dial. There are also many equipment costs: …microphones to voice their appreciation and concerns of the community, CD players to play great music and spoken-word material, turntables to rock out the vinyl, chairs for the programmers and guests to sit in, recorders to go out to get field reports from the streets, etc.., all which needs to be regularly maintained and upgraded.
